Justice..or money?
There was this minister in Kerala who was accused in a sex scandal. Now the victim no longer has a complaint, and others who had lodged a PIL are building new houses. The minister is of course aquitted for "lack of evidence." Thats all there is to it. Money.

Animals in IIT campus
I am a research scholar at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. IIT is located in a national park (the land on which IIT stands was part of the Guindy National Park, at Adayar, in Chennai.) As a member of the wildlife club Prakriti, we get updates about the wildlife at IIT (mainly deer.) Many deer are killed inside the IIT campus, by vehicles or by stray dogs. The deer are also prone to other human made menaces like plastic bags. IIT once was thickly wooded land, but now most of it is full of buildings. The jungle cover is decreasing year by year, mainly due to ambitious expansion plans, new departments, increased student strength etc.
Wildlife in IIT is doomed. I feel that withing the next twenty-five years, IIT will no longer have any wildlife. There are just too many conflicts between man and animals. Although there are some concered people at IIT who try in ernest for the well being of the animals, it is practically almost impossible to run the campus without affecting the animals. Several outsiders visit the campus, they come in vehicles. They usually travel at high speed, since when compared to traffic-choked Chennai city, IIT raods are much empty. Accidents involving animals are nearly always fatal. And stray dogs...so many abound the IIT campus. A few dog-catching experiments have not been very successful. They hunt in packs, and an injured or young deer is an easy victim.
So this is my view. Yes, it may sound negative. But I am convinced that is going to happen. Man and animals dont mix. ¶ 7:32 AM 0 Comments

This is my first official post on this blog. I forgot it had been created...
